Position Summary

HUBKOM (Pvt) Ltd is seeking an experienced and hands-on System Administrator to lead the organization's IT infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity operations, and technical support functions.

Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the availability, security, performance, and scalability of the organization's IT environment.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft infrastructure, virtualization, networking, firewalls, VPNs, backup and disaster recovery, and information security. In addition to technical expertise, the role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and team-management capabilities.

Key ResponsibilitiesIT Infrastructure & Systems Administration

  • Manage and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, performance, and security.
  • Administer Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and related infrastructure services.
  • Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, access controls, and privileged accounts in accordance with organizational security policies.
  • Manage virtualization infrastructure, including VMware ESXi, vCenter, and related virtual infrastructure.
  • Manage enterprise storage platforms and ensure appropriate capacity, performance, and availability.
  • Monitor infrastructure health, resource utilization, system performance, and capacity requirements.
  • Perform system upgrades, patch management, configuration changes, and preventive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, server, application, and connectivity issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, system inventories, configurations, and operational procedures.

Network & Connectivity

  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, wireless infrastructure, and VPN services.
  • Administer firewall security policies, NAT, routing, VLANs, access controls, and network security configurations.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure site-to-site and remote-access VPN solutions.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, bandwidth utilization, and connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, routing, VPN, and other network-related issues.
  • Ensure network infrastructure follows appropriate security and availability standards.

Backup, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

  • Manage and monitor enterprise backup infrastructure and backup operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and test backup and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Ensure critical systems and business data are protected according to organizational requirements.
  • Conduct periodic backup restoration and disaster recovery testing.
  • Maintain appropriate recovery objectives and documentation for critical IT services.
  • Support business continuity planning and infrastructure resilience initiatives.

Information Security & Compliance

  • Implement and continuously improve technical information security controls across the IT environment.
  • Maintain and enforce security policies, procedures, standards, and access-control requirements.
  • Support the organization's ISO 27001 information security management system and related technical controls.
  • Manage and monitor endpoint security, antivirus/EDR, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and other security technologies.
  • Monitor security events and investigate suspected security incidents.
  • Coordinate incident response, remediation, and follow-up activities.
  • Conduct periodic security reviews, vulnerability assessments, and access reviews.
  • Ensure systems are appropriately hardened, patched, monitored, and protected against security threats.
  • Support internal and external security audits and provide required technical evidence and documentation.
  • Ensure IT operations comply with organizational security policies and applicable regulatory and contractual requirements.

IT Operations & Service Management

  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations and ensure timely resolution of incidents, service requests, and technical issues.
  • Provide escalation-level support for complex infrastructure, server, network, security, and system issues.
  • Establish and maintain IT operational procedures, standards, and service-level expectations.
  • Manage IT assets, hardware, software licensing, warranties, and technology inventories.
  • Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
  • Evaluate technology solutions and make recommendations based on security, reliability, scalability, and cost.
  • Support IT budgeting, procurement, infrastructure planning, and technology improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, assets, licenses, configurations, and operational procedures.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise IT infrastructure, systems administration, security, and technical support staff.
  • Assign, prioritize, and monitor operational tasks, projects, and support activities.
  • Establish clear responsibilities, performance expectations, and service standards for the IT team.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure timely resolution of operational issues.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and identify training and professional development requirements.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing, technical documentation, and continuous improvement within the IT team.
  • Collaborate with department heads and senior management to align IT services with business requirements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, network administration, information security, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior, supervisory, team-lead, or IT management role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Practical experience administering VMware ESXi and vCenter environments.
  • Experience with enterprise storage, virtualization, and server infrastructure.
  • Strong hands-on experience with firewalls, routing, switching, VLANs, network security, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with site-to-site and remote-access VPN solutions.
  • Experience managing backup and disaster recovery environments.
  • Practical understanding of information security controls, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.
  • Experience working in an ISO 27001-aligned or compliance-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, VPN, LAN/WAN, and common enterprise networking technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively leading and supporting an IT team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CCNA, Microsoft certifications, VMware VCP, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience with SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Wazuh, Splunk, QRadar, or equivalent.
  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam.
  • Experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR/XDR) platforms.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management and security assessment tools.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting and IT automation skills.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based IT service management practices.
  • Experience supporting healthcare organizations or working within environments subject to healthcare-related security and privacy requirements is an advantage.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience.
