We are one of the leading pharmaceutical company in Pakistan. We require energetic and self-motivated individual for the following position to be based at Karachi.
SQL Database Administrator
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science / IT/ Software Engineering)
Experience:
- 3-5 years
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity.
- Manage backups, restoration, recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Troubleshoot database, connectivity, and performance issues.
- Perform query optimization, indexing, and database maintenance.
- Manage database security, users, authentication and authorization, and SQL Server Agent jobs.
- Support application deployments, integrations, and database changes.
- Coordinate with IT teams, developers, vendors, and business users.
- Monitor and run DBCC and diagnostic checks, blocking, deadlocks, long-running queries, and resource-intensive operations.
- Monitor cluster health, failover status, synchronization, and database availability.
Skills:
- Strong SQL Server Administration and T-SQL skills.
- Knowledge of performance tuning, indexing, backup/recovery, and database security.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of PowerShell, Always On, Azure SQL, or replication.
