We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of database environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across business-critical systems.

This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a proactive approach to managing database infrastructure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and manage database systems, with a primary focus on Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to improve system efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• Perform routine database backups, recovery testing, and disaster recovery planning to ensure business continuity.
• Maintain database security by managing user permissions, access controls, and data protection measures.
• Investigate and resolve database-related incidents, performance issues, and system disruptions.
• Design, develop, and maintain database structures, schemas, and data models to support business and application requirements.
• Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, migrations, and system enhancements.
• Work closely with software development and IT teams to optimize queries, improve application performance, and support new initiatives.
• Create and maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in Database Administration or a similar technical role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration and management.
• Solid understanding of database performance tuning, optimization techniques, backup and recovery processes, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation technologies such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash is an advantage.
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with cloud-based database platforms such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL.
• Knowledge of database replication, clustering, failover mechanisms, and high-availability architectures.
• Understanding of database monitoring tools and capacity planning methodologies.
• Exposure to data warehousing, ETL processes, or business intelligence environments is a plus.
