What You'll Be Working On

• Designing and building backend services using Python
• Developing APIs using FastAPI and Django
• Working with PostgreSQL and database schema design
• Managing database migrations and production deployments
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Working with GitHub Actions and automated testing
• Deploying and maintaining services on AWS
• Working with ECS, Fargate, load balancing, auto scaling, and cloud infrastructure
• Debugging production issues and improving system reliability
• Collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to ship features quickly

What We're Looking For

Required Skills

• Strong Python programming skills
• Experience with FastAPI and/or Django
• Good understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Experience writing and managing database migrations
• Comfortable using the Linux command line
• Strong Git workflow experience
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with GitHub Actions
• Experience deploying applications to AWS
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications
• Understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture

Bonus Points

• Experience with ECS, Fargate, ALB, Auto Scaling, IAM, CloudWatch, or Terraform
• Experience working in startup environments
• Knowledge of asynchronous Python
• Experience with Redis, Celery, or message queues
• Experience monitoring and optimizing production systems
