Full job description

Company Description

Established in 2004, Times Consultant (Pvt.) Ltd. is Pakistan’s leading foreign education consultancy. With multiple global awards for excellence, we proudly represent 1,000+ international universities and operate with a team of 1,000+ professionals across 38 locations nationwide. Backed by extensive industry expertise and advanced digital systems, we provide end-to-end international education guidance to students.

Role Description

Times Consultant is seeking academically strong professionals for the position of Education Consultant – Scholarships & Research.

The role provides specialized guidance to students exploring competitive international scholarships, fully funded and funded study opportunities, research-based Master’s programs, MPhil and PhD admissions.

The Consultant will assess student profiles, research suitable scholarship and academic opportunities, interpret eligibility criteria, guide students regarding relevant application requirements and provide specialized counseling based on each student's academic background and future objectives.

Consultants are supported by TimesCourseFinder.com the world’s largest course search portal as a structured tool for university and program research, together with Times Consultant’s internal resources and independent research tools. These resources support the Consultant while deeper research is carried out into scholarships, funding opportunities, research programs, academic supervisors and other relevant pathways.

This is an academic advisory and student-counseling position rather than a laboratory or scientific research role.

Scholarship & Funding Guidance

  • Assess students' academic backgrounds, qualifications, grades, achievements, intended qualification level and subject area to determine suitability for competitive scholarship opportunities.
  • Research relevant international scholarships, including fully funded, full-tuition and significant merit-scholarship opportunities.
  • Identify scholarship eligibility requirements and interpret selection criteria.
  • Track scholarship deadlines.
  • Understand and explain scholarship funding coverage, including distinctions between fully funded, full-tuition and partial scholarships.
  • Match students with realistic scholarship opportunities relevant to their academic profiles, rather than providing generic lists.
  • Guide students regarding scholarship application requirements, processes, strategy and required supporting documentation, including CVs, motivation statements, study plans and recommendation letters.

Research-Based Master's / MPhil / PhD Guidance

  • Counsel students interested in research-based Master's, MPhil and PhD programs.
  • Assess students' previous research background, including thesis or dissertation experience, and understand intended research areas and academic interests.
  • Research suitable international universities, departments and research programs.
  • Identify faculty members and potential research supervisors whose expertise aligns with the student's intended research area.
  • Guide students regarding research-program admission requirements, research-proposal expectations and appropriate strategies for contacting prospective supervisors.
  • Research funded PhD opportunities, studentships, assistantships and other scholarship or funding opportunities connected with research programs.

Student Counseling & Case Management

  • Provide realistic and responsible guidance, explaining opportunities and limitations professionally, without making guarantees regarding scholarship awards, admission outcomes or funding.
  • Maintain accurate student-profile, counseling and researched-opportunity records in CRM, including recommendations and next steps.
  • Coordinate suitable students with the Admissions team and other Education Consultants when they proceed with applications or require alternative study/funding options.
  • Maintain professional and ethical counseling standards, while continuously developing knowledge of scholarships, research programs and postgraduate opportunities.

Requirements

  • MS/MPhil or equivalent research-based qualification preferred, along with thesis, dissertation or substantial academic research experience.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking ability.
  • Excellent research skills, including strong internet/online research ability and the capacity to independently research and organize large amounts of academic information.
  • Ability to interpret detailed scholarship eligibility criteria and university/program requirements.
  • Ability to objectively assess academic profiles and identify appropriate academic opportunities accordingly.
  • Strong student-counseling and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management ability, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of international scholarships and research-based international admissions will be an advantage.
  • Personal experience applying for international scholarships, postgraduate or research programs will be highly desirable.
  • Experience communicating with academic supervisors, and exposure to publications or conference participation, will be an advantage.
  • Strong fresh MS/MPhil graduates are encouraged to apply.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • The ideal candidate should:
  • Have genuine interest in academic research and international education, with a willingness to continuously learn about new scholarships, funded programs and research opportunities.
  • Be comfortable researching complex opportunities independently, with patience for detailed, in-depth research.
  • Be able to interpret detailed eligibility criteria and distinguish between formal eligibility and genuine competitiveness.
  • Communicate realistic possibilities to students clearly and without overpromising, explaining complex academic information in simple language.
  • Be organized with deadlines and multiple student profiles.
  • Be comfortable counseling students individually.
