Journalism jobs in Islamabad

Public Narrative Observatory is an independent, non-partisan research initiative studying how narratives are shaped, spread, and contested across Pakistan’s news and social media.

We’re building a small founding team and are looking for people with a journalism or mass communication background.

What you’ll do

• Analyze how stories and narratives develop across news and social media
• Verify claims and trace where information comes from
• Identify patterns in how issues are framed and messaged
• Turn findings into clear, accessible writing and research

You’ll fit well if you

• Follow Pakistani media closely and notice when a story feels “pushed”
• Read and write Urdu fluently (a regional language such as Punjabi, Pashto, or Sindhi is a strong plus)
• Can analyze content from every side of the political spectrum without taking sides
• Are careful with facts and comfortable with spreadsheets

Big plus: a genuine interest in media, propaganda, and how public opinion is shaped. If you already follow these topics closely, we’d especially like to hear from you.
