An international Embassy in Pakistan is looking for a Junior Political Associate:

The main tasks and responsibilities of a Junior Political Associate will include:

· Contribute to the public diplomacy and trade promotion activities of the Embassy in collaboration with the Embassy Trade Council

· Assist with political affairs

· Assist with day-to-day activities regarding development projects.

Common tasks and responsibilities for both Junior Associates will include:

· Monitor and report on current political and economic affairs as well as developments in Pakistan within areas of particular interest to the country, including domestic, regional, and foreign policy developments and green transition.

· Secure coordination between the foreign countries and Pakistani partners. Arrange meetings, dinners, receptions, and other events with government, business, civil society, academia, and other stakeholders

· Prepare material and minutes of diplomatic and commercial meetings

· Collate data and conduct analysis, research, and formulate memos on relevant topics.

· Assist in organizing visits by Danish delegations to Pakistan.

· Preparing for meetings; booking conference rooms, setting up the projector and other video conferencing units, arrangement of refreshments, etc.

· Assist in day-to-day activities regarding Communications, including content for Social Media platforms used by the Embassy

· Contribute to a strengthened focus on sustainability and green transition across the Embassy.

· A limited amount of travel outside of Islamabad is to be expected.

· Engage in improving the sustainability of the Embassy by implementing our own sustainability strategy, which aspires to create a more sustainable workplace in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and other agendas

· Provide support services to the superiors ensuring a professional, responsive and effective experience with the organization as a whole.

Requirements for the position

· Fresh graduates having Bachelor's Degree in the last one year from a higher education institution (e.g. political science, international relations, economics, trade and business, law, sociology, environmental studies, earth sciences)

· Background knowledge in a minimum of two areas; (a) Climate Change & Green Growth, (b) Political Affairs, (c) Trade & Economy, (d) Communications & Public Diplomacy.

· Interest in international trade, political affairs, climate change, green growth, and sustainability

· Preferably relevant experience with political affairs and reporting, international cooperation, and market research. It is an additional advantage if you have previous experience with projects within green energy and sustainability.

· Knowledge of and interest in promoting the other country's societal, trade, and green strongholds.

· Ability to work independently and as a team member, often under time pressure.

· Proactive, open-minded, and creative approach to the handling of tasks.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including fluency in English.

· IT user knowledge, including social media platforms and Microsoft Office programs.

Employment conditions

· You will be offered a time-limited 9 months of employment with the possibility of extension on a local contract

· Your standard working hours will be 37 hours per week
