Medical Research & Clinical Quality Lead - Islamabad
Job details
Job type
Full job description
Level: Lead · 1–3 years preferred (Strong fresh graduates with relevant research experience may also apply)
Type: Full-time · On-site
About the Role
At Mohsyn, every interaction with a client generates something valuable beyond the immediate care being provided: knowledge.
A doctor's visit, a change in mobility, a new medication, a recurring complaint, a behavioural observation, or a seemingly small change in someone's routine can all become important when viewed together over time.
We're looking for a Medical Research & Clinical Quality Lead to help us capture that knowledge, with the help of our on-field medical team, structure it, study it, and ultimately use it to improve the quality of care we provide.
You'll work closely with our field doctors and other clinical professionals across Pakistan and become the central point for clinical documentation, medical research, quality, and knowledge management.
You'll review medical reports coming in from the field, improve how clinical information is documented, maintain structured longitudinal client records, identify patterns and changes across those records, and help turn what we learn into better protocols, better reporting, and better care.
This is not necessarily a practicing-doctor role.
We're looking for someone who understands medicine but is equally fascinated by the research, analytical, and systems side of healthcare.
If your instinct when looking at medical information is to ask What is this telling us?, What has changed?, Is there a pattern here?, and How can we use this information to improve care? — you'll probably enjoy this role.
What You'll Do
Clinical Documentation & Quality
- Lead and standardise medical documentation practices across Mohsyn's network of field doctors.
- Review field visit reports for clinical quality, completeness, clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Establish clear standards for what should be captured during and after medical interactions with Mohsyn clients.
- Guide field doctors on documentation standards, clinical reporting, case recording, and information quality.
- Identify incomplete, unclear, inconsistent, or missing information in clinical reports and coordinate appropriate follow-ups.
- Develop and continuously improve clinical reporting formats, templates, checklists, and documentation guidelines.
- Work with doctors and other clinical professionals to ensure client information is recorded in a way that is both medically meaningful and useful for longitudinal analysis.
- Conduct periodic reviews of documentation quality and identify recurring gaps requiring improvement, guidance, or training.
- Help create greater consistency in clinical documentation across doctors, cities, and client cases.
- Client Medical Records & Knowledge Management
- Build and maintain a central, structured medical repository containing relevant clinical information for Mohsyn clients.
- Maintain longitudinal client records that allow Mohsyn to understand how an individual's health, functionality, behaviour, and care requirements evolve over time.
- Organise medical information so that important historical context can be easily identified and understood when reviewing a client's current condition.
- Ensure appropriate medical information is accurately categorised, maintained, and updated as new client information becomes available.
- Help establish clear standards around medical data organisation, access, confidentiality, and record quality.
- Ensure important observations and changes do not become buried across disconnected reports or individual visits.
- Build and continuously improve Mohsyn's internal medical knowledge base, combining insights from client care with relevant medical research and evidence.
Medical Research & Analysis
- Review and analyse client medical records to identify medical, functional, behavioural, and care-related trends.
- Study longitudinal records to identify meaningful changes in individual clients over time.
- Look for recurring patterns across the wider client population that could help Mohsyn better understand the people we care for.
- Identify potential changes, risks, recurring concerns, or emerging patterns within the available medical information and surface them appropriately for clinical or management review.
- Develop regular reports highlighting key findings, trends, changes, risks, and emerging patterns identified through client data.
- Conduct focused research into medical and care-related topics relevant to Mohsyn's client population.
- Review credible medical literature and evidence to support improvements in Mohsyn's clinical processes, documentation standards, and care practices.
- Translate complex medical information and research into clear, structured, and actionable insights for relevant internal stakeholders.
- Help Mohsyn move from simply accumulating medical information to systematically learning from it.
Clinical Protocols & Continuous Improvement
- Support the development and continuous improvement of clinical protocols, checklists, assessment frameworks, and reporting standards.
- Use findings from documentation reviews, client records, and research to identify opportunities for improving the quality of Mohsyn's care.
- Work with field doctors and other clinical professionals to validate and refine clinical processes.
- Identify recurring gaps in clinical reporting or care information and recommend practical solutions.
- Help develop consistent approaches for capturing information relevant to elderly clients and their changing care needs.
- Support management with medical and research insights when evaluating opportunities to improve Mohsyn's care model.
- Help create a culture where clinical processes continuously improve based on evidence, data, observation, and learning.
What We're Looking For
Must Have
- A relevant medical or healthcare education, with backgrounds such as MBBS, Pharm-D, Clinical Research, Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, or another relevant healthcare discipline.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred, although strong fresh graduates with meaningful clinical or medical research exposure are encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical information, and healthcare documentation.
- A genuine interest in the research, analytical, and systems side of medicine and healthcare.
- Strong research skills and an ability to read, understand, evaluate, and synthesise medical information.
- Highly analytical, with a natural inclination to look for patterns, relationships, changes, and inconsistencies in information.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when reviewing clinical documentation and medical records.
- Extremely organised and comfortable working with large volumes of medical information.
- Ability to structure complicated or fragmented information into something clear, consistent, and useful.
- Strong written communication skills and an ability to present medical findings clearly and logically.
- Comfortable communicating with doctors and other clinical professionals and following up when information is incomplete or unclear.
- Strong sense of responsibility when working with confidential and sensitive medical information.
- Comfortable working on-site from our Naval Anchorage, Islamabad office.
Nice to Have
- Previous involvement in clinical research, medical research, academic research, audits, systematic reviews, or research publications.
- Experience working with electronic medical records, clinical databases, patient registries, or healthcare information systems.
- Exposure to clinical audit, quality assurance, patient safety, or healthcare quality improvement.
- Experience working with or researching elderly populations, chronic disease, geriatric medicine, home healthcare, or long-term care.
- Experience analysing longitudinal medical or patient information.
- Familiarity with research methodology, literature reviews, evidence-based medicine, and basic statistical analysis.
- Experience developing or reviewing clinical protocols, medical documentation standards, assessment tools, or checklists.
- An interest in using technology, data, and AI to improve clinical documentation, medical research, knowledge management, and quality of care.
Education
- We're open to candidates from a range of medically relevant academic backgrounds, including:
- MBBS · Pharm-D · Clinical Research / Clinical Research Sciences · Public Health · Biomedical Sciences · Life Sciences · or another relevant Medical/Healthcare qualification
- You do not need to be a practising doctor to succeed in this role.
- What matters more is that you understand medicine well enough to engage meaningfully with clinical information and that you genuinely enjoy the research, analytical, and knowledge-building side of healthcare.
The Kind of Person Who'll Thrive Here
- Medically strong. Research-minded. Extremely organised. Analytical. Curious. Detail-oriented.
- You enjoy understanding why something is happening rather than simply recording that it happened.
- You notice when information doesn't quite add up.
- You enjoy taking scattered pieces of information and finding the pattern connecting them.
- And when you read through months of reports for the same client, your mind naturally starts asking: What has changed? Is something recurring? What might we be missing? Is there something here that the care team should know?
- Most importantly, you believe medical information becomes significantly more valuable when we learn from it rather than simply store it.
Why Join Us
At Mohsyn, we hire the best — and then trust them to do what they do best. No micromanagement, no unnecessary layers. Just ownership, autonomy, and the freedom to make an impact.
Every voice matters here, and in this role, you'll have the opportunity to help build something particularly important: Mohsyn's institutional medical memory.
Our field doctors interact with clients across Pakistan. Every consultation and field visit adds another piece to a much larger picture of that person's health and wellbeing. Your role will help ensure those individual pieces don't remain isolated reports — but instead become a structured story that allows us to understand each client better over time.
And that matters because many of the people we care for are elderly.
For an elderly client, a small change today can sometimes become much more meaningful when compared with what was happening three months, six months, or a year ago. The quality of our documentation, the questions we ask, the patterns we notice, and the knowledge we retain can all contribute to better-informed care.
Your impact, therefore, won't always happen directly in front of a client.
It might happen when you notice a recurring pattern across several reports and flag it for review. When you improve a reporting format so doctors consistently capture an important piece of information. When research you conduct leads to a better clinical checklist. Or when the longitudinal record you've helped build gives a doctor a clearer understanding of someone's history before their next visit.
Those may look like improvements to data, documentation, and systems. But ultimately, they're improvements to how well we understand and care for people.
And you won't be sitting on the sidelines. From early on, you'll get real medical information to study, real systems to improve, real clinical professionals to collaborate with, and real room to build. We'll give you the freedom to ask questions, investigate patterns, challenge gaps, and help us develop a medical knowledge function that becomes stronger with every client we care for.
We believe exceptional people do exceptional work when they feel trusted, supported, heard, and excited about where they work. That's the kind of team we're building at Mohsyn: collaborative, curious, low on ego, big on ownership, and high on impact.
