We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Senior Virtual Medical Assistant (VMA) to join our healthcare support team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with U.S.-based medical practices, strong English communication skills, and a solid understanding of patient communication, prescription refills, referrals, and clinical documentation.

This is an onsite night-shift position supporting U.S. doctors and medical staff in real time.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle patient inquiries through phone calls, emails, and patient portal messages professionally and efficiently.
• Manage prescription refill requests and coordinate with pharmacies regarding medication availability, prescription issues, and refill status.
• Process and coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers.
• Handle inbound calls from pharmacies, laboratories, imaging centers, insurance companies, and other healthcare facilities.
• Assist with clinical documentation, chart preparation, and EMR updates.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Review patient charts and follow up on pending labs, imaging, referrals, records, and other outstanding tasks.
• Communicate and coordinate with U.S.-based physicians, nurses, and medical office staff in real time.
• Assist with scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment coordination when needed.
• Provide general administrative and clinical support to the medical practice.
• Follow established workflows, HIPAA/privacy requirements, and internal protocols.
• Escalate urgent or clinically sensitive patient concerns to the appropriate provider or staff member.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling protected health information (PHI).

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, Virtual Medical Assistant, Medical Scribe, Patient Care Coordinator, or similar healthcare role.
• Previous experience supporting a U.S.-based medical practice is strongly preferred.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Comfortable communicating with patients, pharmacies, laboratories, imaging centers, and U.S. healthcare professionals.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical workflows.
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM/task-management tools.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple patient-related tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently while following established protocols.
• Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
• Willingness and ability to work 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Epic, DrChrono, Kareo, or other EMR systems.
• Experience handling U.S. prescription refill workflows.
• Experience with prior authorizations, referrals, medical records, and insurance-related tasks.
• Experience communicating with U.S. pharmacies, labs, imaging centers, and specialist offices.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and handling protected health information.
• Medical Assistant, Pharmacy, Nursing, Allied Health, or other healthcare-related education is a plus.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday
4:00 PM – 2:00 AM

This position requires working onsite in Salamat Pura, Lahore and supporting U.S.-based healthcare operations during U.S. business hours.

Pay: Rs80,000.00 - Rs120,000.00 per month
