Job Summary

The Network Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and securing the organization's network infrastructure. This role ensures high network availability, optimal performance, and secure connectivity across LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and internet services while providing technical support and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and security.
• Troubleshoot network outages, connectivity issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Configure and manage LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, VLANs, and internet connectivity.
• Administer firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network security policies.
• Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and network segmentation.
• Implement network monitoring and alerting tools.
• Perform firmware upgrades, patches, and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate with ISPs and vendors for connectivity and support.
• Ensure backup and recovery of network device configurations.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.
• Assist in planning and implementing network expansion and infrastructure upgrades.
• Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support for network-related incidents.
• Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in network administration and support.
• Experience managing enterprise network environments is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Cisco, HPE, Juniper, or MikroTik networking equipment
• Routing and switching (OSPF, BGP, STP, VLANs)
• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT
• VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN)
• Firewall administration (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Sophos)
• Wireless networking (Wi-Fi 5/6)
• Network monitoring tools (PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix, Nagios)
• Windows Server and Linux networking basics
• Microsoft Active Directory fundamentals
• Basic scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) is an advantage
