The Australian High Commission in Islamabad maintains a temporary employment register, which is for applicants who wish to register a general expression of interest in filling temporary vacancies that may arise within the High Commission.
The Australian High Commission may use the register to access suitably skilled and experienced individuals for short term employment opportunities when staff are required at short notice. Most vacancies are full-time but less than 6 months in length. Types of temporary vacancies include administrative, research/policy, and driver positions.
Your application will be considered when temporary vacancies arise, and decisions are based on suitability and availability. Start dates for all temporary vacancies are subject to satisfactory background checks being completed. Only those applicants with valid authorisation to work in Pakistan will be considered for the temporary register.
Terms of Employment
Temporary vacancies are locally engaged staff positions based at the Australian High Commission in Islamabad. These are not Australian Public Service positions. Successful candidates may be offered either full-time, part-time or casual employment. Successful candidates will be expected to commence duties as soon as possible. Successful candidates will be employed under the locally engaged staff Conditions of Services and will be entitled to the applicable employment benefits and conditions.
