Manager Human Resources (HR) & People Operations

Location: Lahore, Pakistan

Industry: Information Technology / IT Services

Experience: 5+ years of relevant HR experience, including significant managerial responsibility

Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline from a reputable Pakistani university/institution

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned and hands-on HR professional to lead and manage the complete Human Resources and People Operations function of a growing IT company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building a professional, performance-driven and employee-focused HR environment. This is a broad HR leadership role requiring someone who can independently manage day-to-day HR operations while also partnering with senior management on organizational structure, people strategy, performance management, recruitment, compensation and employee engagement.

The ideal candidate should have experience working in a medium to large-sized organization, preferably within the IT, technology, software, systems integration or professional services sector.

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Operations & Administration

- Manage the complete HR function and ensure smooth, efficient and professional HR operations.

- Develop, implement and maintain HR policies, procedures and employee handbooks.

- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.

- Ensure proper employee onboarding, transfers, promotions, confirmations and exits.

- Manage attendance, leave, employee documentation and other HR administration.

- Ensure compliance with applicable Pakistani labour laws, regulations and statutory requirements.

- Establish appropriate HR processes, controls and reporting mechanisms.

2. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

- Lead end-to-end recruitment for technical, managerial and support positions.

- Work closely with department heads to understand manpower requirements and prepare appropriate job descriptions.

- Develop effective sourcing strategies and maintain a strong talent pipeline.

- Manage recruitment agencies, job portals, universities and other talent sources where appropriate.

- Conduct initial screening and coordinate interviews and assessments.

- Ensure a professional and consistent candidate experience.

- Develop and maintain an effective onboarding process for new employees.

3. Performance Management

- Design and manage a structured performance management system.

- Work with management to establish KPIs, KRAs and performance objectives for employees.

- Manage annual and periodic performance reviews.

- Support managers in addressing performance gaps and implementing performance improvement plans.

- Develop processes for promotions, increments and career progression based on merit and performance.

4. Compensation & Benefits

- Manage salary structures, compensation reviews and employee benefits.

- Conduct periodic market benchmarking to ensure the company's compensation remains competitive.

- Coordinate annual salary and performance review cycles.

- Work with Finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

- Maintain appropriate confidentiality and controls around employee compensation information.

5. Employee Relations & Engagement

- Act as a trusted HR point of contact for employees and management.

- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and workplace issues professionally and fairly.

- Promote a positive, professional and high-performance culture.

- Develop employee engagement and retention initiatives.

- Conduct employee satisfaction/engagement surveys and recommend improvements.

- Ensure effective communication of company policies, expectations and organizational changes.

6. Organizational Development

- Work with the CEO and senior management on organizational structure, workforce planning and manpower optimization.

- Review roles, responsibilities and reporting structures as the company evolves.

- Identify skill gaps and recommend appropriate hiring, training or restructuring.

- Develop career paths and succession plans for key positions.

- Support organizational change and restructuring initiatives.

7. Learning & Development

- Identify training and development requirements across the organization.

- Develop and manage annual training plans and budgets.

- Coordinate technical, managerial and soft-skills training programs.

- Help build a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

8. HR Analytics & Management Reporting

- Develop and maintain HR dashboards and management reports covering:

- Headcount

- Recruitment and vacancies

- Employee turnover

- Attendance and leave

- Compensation

- Performance

- Employee engagement

- Training and development

- Provide management with data-driven insights and recommendations on people-related matters.

9. HR Technology & Process Improvement

- Manage and continuously improve the company's HRIS and digital HR processes.

- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline HR operations.

- Ensure HR data is accurate, secure and appropriately controlled.

- Introduce modern HR practices suitable for a technology-driven organization.

10. Culture, Governance & Compliance

- Help establish a professional, accountable and performance-oriented company culture.

- Ensure consistent application of company policies across departments.

- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and organizational information.

- Ensure HR practices are aligned with company strategy, management expectations and applicable laws.

- Keep management informed of significant HR risks, employee issues and organizational trends.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be a mature, commercially aware and hands-on HR professional who can operate independently and interact confidently with employees at all levels, including senior management.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- 5+ years of relevant HR experience, preferably with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Organizational Psychology or a related discipline from a reputable Pakistani institution.

- Prior experience in an IT, technology, software, systems integration, consulting or other professional services organization will be strongly preferred.

- Demonstrated experience managing the full HR lifecycle rather than working exclusively in one HR specialty.

- Strong knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, HR policies and HR operations.

- Working knowledge of Pakistani employment and labour regulations.

- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.

- Excellent written and spoken English.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

- High level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.

- Ability to deal confidently with both employees and senior management.

- Strong command of MS Office/Google Workspace and familiarity with modern HRIS platforms.
