Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Laboratory Manager to oversee laboratory operations for our skincare manufacturing business. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of cosmetic formulations, laboratory testing, quality control, raw materials, and product development.

The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for managing laboratory activities, ensuring product quality and safety, developing and improving skincare formulations, and maintaining compliance with applicable quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

● Manage day-to-day laboratory operations and ensure smooth workflow.

● Lead and supervise laboratory staff, including chemists, lab technicians, and R&D personnel.

● Develop, test, and improve skincare and cosmetic formulations such as creams, lotions, serums, cleansers, sunscreens, and other personal-care products.

● Conduct and oversee testing of raw materials, packaging materials, bulk products, and finished products.

● Establish and maintain laboratory testing procedures, specifications, and quality standards.

● Monitor product stability, compatibility, pH, viscosity, appearance, texture, microbial quality, and other relevant parameters.

● Ensure accurate laboratory records, test reports, batch documentation, and formulation records.

● Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and R&D teams to resolve product and quality-related issues.

● Approve or recommend approval/rejection of raw materials and finished products based on laboratory results.

● Investigate product deviations, complaints, and quality issues and recommend corrective actions.

● Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and safe operation of laboratory equipment.

● Maintain laboratory chemicals, reagents, samples, and inventory.

● Ensure proper handling, labeling, storage, and disposal of laboratory chemicals and materials.

● Develop and maintain SOPs, specifications, testing methods, and laboratory documentation.

● Support new product development and scale-up from laboratory trials to commercial production.

● Ensure compliance with company policies, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and applicable cosmetic/quality requirements.

● Train laboratory staff on testing procedures, safety protocols, SOPs, and quality standards.

● Coordinate with external laboratories for specialized testing when required.

● Stay updated on new ingredients, formulation technologies, skincare trends, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Requirements

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.

● 5+ years of relevant laboratory/R&D experience, preferably in skincare, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or FMCG manufacturing.

● Previous experience in a Laboratory Manager, R&D Manager, QC Manager, or similar supervisory role will be preferred.

● Strong knowledge of skincare/cosmetic formulation and laboratory testing.

● Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and analytical testing procedures.

● Good understanding of GMP, GLP, quality control, and laboratory safety.

● Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

● Ability to manage a laboratory team and coordinate with cross-functional departments.

● Proficiency in MS Office and laboratory documentation/reporting.

Pay: Rs120,000.00 - Rs150,000.00 per month
