Position: Freelance Quantity Surveyor
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Freelance / Contract-Based
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in UK construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost estimation, BOQ preparation, tender analysis, and cost control throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates.
- Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Prepare tender documentation and evaluate contractor bids.
- Monitor project costs, variations, and budget performance.
- Prepare valuations, payment certificates, and cost reports.
- Assist in contract administration and procurement processes.
- Provide commercial advice and cost-saving recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience on UK construction projects.
- Strong understanding of UK construction contracts and procurement methods.
- Experience preparing BOQs and cost plans.
- Proficiency in Excel, CostX, Bluebeam, or similar QS software.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
