Position Summary:

The Social Mobilizer will be responsible for project field level implementation WASH activities including community mobilization, conducting assessments, selection of beneficiaries as per criteria and ensure ground level implementation of project capacity building and WASH programming activities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop strategy of community interaction and hold first dialogues meetings with the communities.
• Ensure assessment and registration of beneficiaries as per defined criteria.
• To work with the community to ensure that they are responding to identified needs and have the full participation of the community.
• Conduct PRA and social mapping activities at the community level.
• Formation of village development committees through social mobilization for livelihood activities.
• To prepare distribution plan in collaboration with village committees.
• To organize and conduct meeting with the community committees.
• To assist project office for preparing case studies on successful events.
• Ensure community participation in technical assessment, planning and implementation.
• Ensure the conducive environment at distribution points through community engagement techniques.
• Reporting daily, weekly and monthly progress to relevant quarters.
• Liaise and work with community groups and projects to ensure accountability and best use of project resources.

Qualification & Experience:

• Masters in Social Sciences, international relations, Health care or any related field.
• At least 2-years’ experience in social mobilization preferably with Livelihood Projects.
• Good level of spoken and written Pashto and local languages.
• Excellent behavior change communication and counselling skills.
• Excellent skills in organizing workflow, capacity to follow protocols and take own initiative.
• Excellent ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work in an environment where there are physical discomforts associated with change in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust or dirt.

Skills and Proficiencies:

• Ability and willingness to autonomously travel to duty site and villages when required.
• Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to work/distribution sites
• Excellent spoken and written local language /Urdu and English language skills
• Good computer skills – ability to write weekly and monthly reports and data analysis.
• Good interpersonal and communication skill
• Previous experience working on UN funded livelihood projects is an asset
• Candidates will be preferred who belong to Human Appeal-intervention areas/UCs district.
