Pay was nice and overall, great employee experience, I miss this job and regret leaving it. :(
Store Associate/Cashier (Former Employee) - Chicago Heights, IL - September 23, 2023
Basically the same as the heading of this review, I enjoyed the physical balance of my duties. (Chairs at the Cashier desks, and once customer service concludes, we perform inventory.) The Work/Life Balance was acceptable unlike a current job I unfortunately work at in Monee, IL.😒
Pros
Benefits
Cons
Dealing with the general public.

Terrible management
Selector (Former Employee) - South Windsor, CT - September 23, 2023
The pay is great but the things you have to deal with aren’t worth it. Management truly doesn’t appreciate its good employees and take advantage of them while the lazy ones slide by. They just want to see the work getting done and are blind to everything else that goes on around them.

Quick paced and positive work place.
Shift Manager (Current Employee) - Columbus, OH - September 23, 2023
A typical shift is rather physical, fairly fast paced and keeps everyone busy, from start to end. The sentiment between associates and management is positive, and management does their best to be flexible with one's work/life balance.
Pros
Positive work environment and benefits.
Cons
Rude customers

fun workplace
Salesman (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - September 23, 2023
I am very happy to work at ALDI. My colleagues treat me well and the working environment is comfortable.I also learned a lot about selling from them. However, the fixed work schedule from morning to night made me feel very tired.

Compensation is not worth the workload
District Manager (Current Employee) - Anonymous - September 22, 2023
One of the most toxic environments I have ever been a part of. Aldi requires a minimum of 50 hours a week but I can promise you that you will work 60. They lure you in with a good salary and a BMW but will kill you with the workload. There is zero job security. The first year that you train they will haze you. I worked 75 hours one week because “I had to do it and this is to see if you have what it takes.” I have never been so mentally defeated from a job as I am with the DM position at ALDI.
Pros
Salary and company car
Cons
Toxic culture, 60 hour weeks, zero job security, hazing

Abwechslungsreich
HV Filialleiterin (Current Employee) - Luzern, LU - September 22, 2023
Sehr stressiger Beruf man muss dafür gemacht sein, abwechslungsreich und zeitaufwändig. Man hat gute Aufstiegsmöglichkeiten und der Job bietet Sicherheit wenn man sehr flexible ist.
Pros

Cons

Good pay - poor management
Retail Associate (Former Employee) - Rocky Hill, CT - September 22, 2023
Great place to start, coworkers are friendly and helpful. Over 6 months you can feel/see the favoritism. Timed on everything from stocking to ringing, bad times or numbers and you will definitely hear about it. The schedule is the most convoluted thing ever, they don’t care if you close into an open shift at all or end up with 6 days in a row will just say try to switch with someone. Store manager is by far the worst. Comes off as super nice but she makes the place toxic. Super micromanager even to those going on 5+ years.
Pros
Pay, coworkers
Cons
Schedule, toxic boss, timed

Fast pace.
Store Manager (Former Employee) - Pennsylvania - September 22, 2023
By doing a good job you get penalized. Goals are unattainable to achieve in a 50 hour work week. You are just a number. Your job will be posted before you are even gone.

Wenn man keine Ausbildung hat ok
Lagerkraft (Former Employee) - Adelsdorf - September 22, 2023
Cons
man weiß nie wann man Feierabend hat

Fast pace
Selector/Picker (Former Employee) - Springfield, OH - September 21, 2023
Great pay, fast work environment, and flexible with scheduling if part time. Your work day is done once all orders for the day have been picked up and nothing else is available. You may have choice to stay over and help others. Hours vary from 5-7 hours

Its okay for the pay
Store Associate (Former Employee) - Rego Park, NY - September 21, 2023
The job itself is very stressful and if its too busy or the store is short staffed you're going to be stuck doing a lot if not most of the work. Working at one of the most busiest stores in the country and not having enough associates on most shifts is a problem too. It also depends on the people who are on your shift. The only good thing is the pay. Oh and I have some good co workers and managers though so it helps a bit.
Pros
pay
Cons
a lot of work, stressful

Hard work
Store Assistant (Current Employee) - Essex - September 21, 2023
Long shifts, extremely fast paced and tiring. Usually short staffed and lots of pressure, however everyone works hard and gets the job done. Great team of people to work with.

Toxic work environment
Full time associate (Former Employee) - Fort Wayne, IN - September 21, 2023
The typical day is so stressful and overwhelming that most new hires quit in 2-3 weeks. I learned that I need quality coworkers and managers to to do my job well. The management is so poor that they truly believe it’s just “some other managers fault” and not the collective fault of the management team. The workplace culture is toxic and jaded. The hardest part of the job is being thrown into chaos with no help or leadership. And finally there’s no enjoyable parts. Literally none. Do not work here.
Pros
No pros.
Cons
Over use, and under pay employees, while poor management gets rewarded for work they didn’t do.

I’m new but it seems like a good workplace, they have good benefits and things that any employee would be happy to have. Good hours , never under 30 which is great
