I enjoyed working at Aldi
Team Member (Former Employee) - Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire - September 21, 2023
I enjoyed sometimes. Pay was good and management were fair. Only think is that I wasn’t given a lot of hours which I asked for -over time was hard to come by

Ambiente stressante
Pros
Formazione
Cons
Tanti

Haven’t worked here
Head Chef (Former Employee) - Dublin, County Dublin - September 20, 2023
Free What Can You Do in London With No Money? So much. We love any of the ideas in this guide. London’s transport system is extensive but unfortunately, it’s also quite expensive. Luckily for you London is a very walkable city – if you’re trying to keep costs down and you stick to the centre, you can walk between most destinations. Eating out adds up – but there are so many cool street food markets that have sprung up all over the city where you can get a delicious meal at a fraction of the cost of a restaurant dinner. Things like coffees can cost quite a bit – bring a thermos with your coffee and save yourself some money. You should really carry a refillable water bottle around with you anyway because saving the planet is so cool, but consider the fact that you’ll save money if that’s not enough motivation.

Unfair management, No Respect, Doesn’t Take Doctors Notes
Store Associate (Current Employee) - Pennsylvania - September 20, 2023
A lot more horrible thing’s as well. Management not caring about you what so ever. And if you need to call off? Might as well get fired. Just not a friendly environment and very much a hierarchy. A lot more to say but Advice is just no if you suffer with mental health issues.

Meh
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee) - Depew, NY - September 20, 2023
Hard work, weird unpredictable hours, good pay, acceptable benefits. Aldi expects a lot out of their employees, but over all I found it to be worth it. Not a job I really enjoyed, but I’ve definitely disliked other jobs way more. Aldi offers potential for growth, but above store manager level often chooses frequent college graduates over employees with significant on the job experience. Kind of had toxic workplace experiences, not super professional, and more like working around kitchen staff than other retail staff I’ve experienced. Aldi definitely puts a lot of resources into training you, but it’s at times too I’m depth and steals much needed labor from the already thinly stretched sales floor.

Fast paced
Assistant Manager (Current Employee) - United Kingdom - September 20, 2023
Can be very stressful and physically demanding, work place culture differs to each store as it’s all depends on the direct leader and how the workload is managed.

Lieblinge machen Karriere, das Filialvolk hinkt hinterher
Tagesvertretung (Current Employee) - Aichtal - September 20, 2023
Pros
Unbefristeter Vertrag
Cons
falsche Leute bekommen Karriereoptionen

No longer a good place to work.
General Manager (Former Employee) - Birmingham, AL - September 19, 2023
Minimal staffing so if there is a call out you have to cover it. District managers are all young and have no retail experience as they hire them right out of college. No promotions available once you get to store manager position.
Pros
Good exercise
Cons
Can be hard on the body, minimal advancement opportunities.

Don't do it.
Store Associate (Former Employee) - Burlington, NC - September 19, 2023
The pay may seem worth it, but believe me. The unfair treatment and unreasonable workload far outweigh any benefits. They expect you to work with malfunctioning equipment and in unsafe conditions and keep your mouth shut about it. They do not care about you and will make your life miserable the minute you rock the boat. Steer clear.

Fast Paced and Self Motivated
Store Associate (Former Employee) - Ohio - September 19, 2023
The physical demands are great, and depending on your location, the atmosphere varies substantially. Some stores are a breeze while others don’t have it right. Scheduling can be erratic, and hours are changing with the seasons. The job doesn’t require much knowledge, but does test your physical limits, your customer service attitude, and your personal willpower. You are expected to “Buy In” to the Aldi brand as a whole, which personally didn’t sit right with me. Fast Paced growth has been the downfall of Aldi’s work environment.

Aldi is a very fast paced work environment. The pay and hours are good. Management is okay. Only 2-3 employees working at a time. Off on some holidays.

Productive workplace
Warehouse Selector (Current Employee) - West Lothian - September 18, 2023
Aldi is a good place for those who want to go up the ladder and find new opportunities, it is hard graft and sometimes long hours but the pay is very good and will always be going up due to other competitors
