cool

easy. only con are the customers and late payment sometimes. cool employees. fun workplace. laid back. flexible schedules and understanding when not being able to come in.

.in the beginning work was good. Management changed and so did work ethics. Hours were cut severely to employees who were productive.

There is too much favoritism, gossip, backstabbing, one’s views were ignored. Lack of morals from some employees. Atmosphere became toxic, and unfair.

No work life balance

No work life balance with an incompetent boss at the helm. Customers are funny sometimes pushy but otherwise nice. Mostly clean up and keeping things organized as well as well stocked.

Pay sucks so bad so I quit

What is the best part of working at the company?Some stores care but mine didn't. My manager was really bad and she never told me I did a good job at all even though I worked my butt off on all my shifts.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Low pay. Only got 40 dollars a week.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Stressful but manageable. May see nice customers but also might see angry people.What is a typical day like for you at the company?Stressful and okay I guess i don't know.

No Way

Nope, not good. Stocks are dropping. Bad upper management. Everything is for show. Peel away the layers and it's awful. Low pay, but give people fancy titles to make themselves feel more important.

A company with quick advancement and a good environment

It's not a bad company overall to work form there is room for advancement pretty quickly. Having a solid team is most important. If you don't, calls off will start to happen. People having to pick up others slack. You really need a good manager so they can provide a good team. I truly enjoy my customers and it's always nice to hear about how good our store is looking. My biggest complaint would have to be the pay. The are a very underpaid company.

Working for Dollar General is nothing like you see posted on social media. It is the opposite.

What is the best part of working at the company?Co-workers and the relationships you build.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?The culture that was created where people did not matter.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Hostile, intimidating, wake up every morning wondering if you would have a job at the end of the day, What is a typical day like for you at the company?Just try to stay afloat. If you did that they would pile more on to do.

Ok job

It's a job come in do work go home . Not gonna get rich . Lot of work but it's simple. Open boxs put on shelf. Not much more to say. I liked it best part was coworkers

Definitely at your pace, very simple & fun customers. The job is pretty easy, great management definitely recommend for teenagers looking for employment

Great Job

It was a great place to work! Always had fun working with custimers and coworkers. Minimum wage pay, but would work there again if I ever decide I want a second job.

Overall My Experience working for This Employer been pleasant. I always have a great boss that works with my schedule and work in a Fun environment.

What is the best part of working at the company?The Lewway. You can Listen to music as you work. Customers for the most part are great.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?If your short like me some things even with ladder or step stool are hard to reach.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?People Are Kind. Very Helpful. It literally like a big family depending on the store you work at. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Cleaning. Clocking In. Occasional smoke break Only when no customers are present In store. Cashiering. Not to many problems thief wise.

Decent job

Decent job. Just customers made it rather tedious at times. At the time my health wasn't the best but my manager was very lient and courteous. Just the counting the money at the end of my closing shift often had me confused as it was not explained properly to me

its okay if you were a teen

i need a job and i was great full. they gave it to me. but the pay is for like a 15 year old of 9.50 a hour and it sucks when the hours get cut for no reason.

Has its pros and cons

I loved my job at the time. It was great however the amount of work they gave you do for the amount of pay is unfair. I worked everyday on my own. A lot is the times i pulled doubles. The customers were great but some coworkers and the store manager wasn’t so great. Dollar General employees should be paid way more

Awful place to work.

Overworked and underpaid. Not a company you want to build with. Awful management. Awful District manager too. Corporate is just the same too. Run the other one way.

Too many hours

Worked 70 to 80 hours a week almost every week. No appreciation. Not a good place to work in management. It was an ok place to work just as a regular associate.

Fast paced and understaffed

I worked as a lead sales associate which ment manager on duty/cashier/stalker. Sometimes I would be scheduled by myself for over 5 hours having to stalk shelves maintaining the cash register and also some maintenance. The location I was at just had horrible employee scheduling. Understaffed and fasted paced is exactly how I would describe working there. Pay was ok if you like being by yourself for most of your shift and also having to deal with other responsibilities.

The absolute worst company I have ever worked for and I have been in retail for 30 years

What is the best part of working at the company?Nothing positive to say about the company What is the most stressful part about working at the company?They ask so much for very low payWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?It's very bad, negative, no recognition What is a typical day like for you at the company?As a manager you do everything. Cashier, sweep parking lot, clean restrooms, mostly you are an overpaid stocker with no hours available to have help.
