What we do

We are a global biopharma company with a purpose to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together. GSK has changed. In July 2022, we demerged our world-leading consumer healthcare business, Haleon. We are now a fully focused biopharma company. We prioritise innovation in vaccines and specialty medicines, maximising the increasing opportunities to prevent and treat disease. At the heart of this is our R&D focus on the science of the immune system, human genetics and advanced technologies, and our world-leading capabilities in vaccines and medicines development. We will focus on four therapeutic areas: infectious diseases, HIV, oncology, and immunology.

Our culture

Culture at GSK is something we all own. It powers our purpose, drives delivery of our strategy and helps make GSK a place where people can thrive. Our culture of being ambitious for patients, accountable for impact and doing the right thing are the foundations for how, together, we’ll deliver for our patients, shareholders and GSK people.

Rewarding Performance

As a GSK employee, you are part of a company that celebrates your achievements and rewards your individual contribution to our business, and our success. They are benchmarked against industry standards and relevant to your job, no matter where you live. Our reward package includes: -A competitive base salary -An annual bonus that rewards you for your individual contribution to our strategy, as well as business targets -Benefit programmes designed to support you and your family, including access to healthcare and well-being programmes, pension plan membership, savings programmes, time off and childcare support -Employee recognition programmes which reward exceptional achievements -Share ownership schemes which link your reward to GSK’s longer term performance -A performance and development programme that helps you identify what you need to do, and the behaviours you need to demonstrate, to achieve success

Inclusion and Diversity

We aim to create an inclusive workplace to attract and retain the most talented people from all backgrounds and cultures. We focus on creating an inclusive organisation where all employees feel engaged and know their work makes an important contribution. An inclusive environment welcomes different knowledge, perspectives, experiences and working styles from across our global population. This not only enhances individual creativity and innovation, but makes good business sense. Equality means affording all employees equal treatment regardless of actual or perceived race; colour; ethnic or national origin; age; gender; sexual orientation; marriage and civil partnership; gender identity and/or expression; religion or belief; physical ability/ disability and/or chronic health conditions (such as HIV/AIDS status); genetic make-up; or other protected characteristics as relevant in a country.

Safety

As a progressive healthcare company, helping our employees stay safe, healthy and productive is a priority. At GSK we aim to have a healthy, resilient, high-performing workforce and cause no harm to people and the planet by helping build a culture guided by our values. -Our commitment to safety We have a responsibility to ensure no physical harm comes to our people while they are at work, and safety is a fundamental part of our corporate culture. To achieve our goal of no harm to employees, we focus on preventing incidents before they occur, and we ensure training and awareness activities are carried out on key risks, such as operating machinery or driving. -Our commitment to employee well-being We have a responsibility to ensure no physical harm comes to our people while they are at work, and safety is a fundamental part of our corporate culture. To achieve our goal of no harm to employees, we focus on preventing incidents before they occur, and we ensure training and awareness activities are carried out on key risks, such as operating machinery or driving. -Our commitment to environmental sustainability We have set ambitious goals to reduce carbon, water and waste across our value chain – from the sourcing of raw materials and the impacts of our own labs and factories, to the use and disposal of our products by patients and consumers. By using resources more efficiently, and collaborating with others to tackle these challenges, we can reduce costs, enhance competitiveness and reduce our impact on the environment.

Community

Employee volunteering is important to us. We encourage our people to contribute to their local communities – and give them plenty of support to do so. We’re pleased to be able to support communities and charities. But employee volunteering isn’t purely giving to others. It helps our people to gain new experiences and skills plus, in many cases, a deeper understanding of patient needs.
